Louis Vuitton’s collaboration with artist Jeff Koons back in April produced some of the most covetable cult bags of the year. The handbag range was printed with several of the world’s most revered images from top painters such as Rubens and van Gogh. Now the luxury French brand has collaborated with the American artist once again.
The second Masters series is set to be equally as desirable as the first, with reproductions of favourite works of art such as Manet’s Le Déjeuner sur l’Herbe (Luncheon on the Grass), Monet’s water lilies and Turner’s Ancient Rome. Each bag features a twist on the Louis Vuitton monogram, which has been reconfigured as the initials of Jeff Koons. The handbags also have a rabbit-shaped leather tag in tribute to the 1986 stainless-steel Rabbit sculpture by Koons, which is one of the artist’s most celebrated works. The Louis Vuitton Speedy, Neverfull and Keepall designs as well as a range of purses are some of the items to be printed with the works of art. In addition, the Triumph of Pan by Nicolas Poussin will be available exclusively at the new Maison Louis Vuitton Vendôme flagship; it will make the perfect souvenir from Paris.
The Louis Vuitton x Jeff Koons Masters second series launches on 27 October.
