Louis Vuitton collaborates with Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama

by Marina Nelson

Influential Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, known for her eclectic, kitsch polka dot patterns and symmetrical art, has joined forces with Louis Vuitton on a special capsule collection exclusive to Louis Vuitton’s flagship stores, including the Champs-Élysées boutique, the largest in France.

Kusama’s statement, unforgettable patterned artwork was recently showcased in an exhibition at London’s Tate Modern museum and Vuitton’s London Bond Street store. She has worked closely with Louis Vuitton’s creative director Marc Jacobs on a capsule collection that fuses fashion with art.

The aptly named Infinitely Kusama collection focuses on the artist’s statement dot prints, which combine with Louis Vuitton’s signature style in a young and upbeat summer wardrobe update. Choose from a variety of polka-dot bow shoes, tote bags, on-trend removable collars and chunky cuffs.
