Jean Patou introduces Joy to Paris

Jean Patou turns his hand to perfumery with joyous results

Ruairidh Pritchard ,

Jean Patou was one of the first fashion designers to turn his hand to perfumery, and the label he founded has maintained its reputation for creating exquisite scents since 1925.

Created from the finest ingredients, and skilfully blended, its perfumes provide an outstanding array of notes and accents.

The art deco-inspired bottles are as memorable as their contents, with each cut-glass flask decorated with gold leaf and hand sealed with gold thread.

Perhaps the perfumery’s most famous scent is Joy, celebrated for its rich floral bouquet, which requires 10,600 jasmine flowers and more than 300 roses for each ounce.

Joy eau de parfum, from €85 for 30ml
