Riccardo Tisci from Givenchy, a label known for its exquisite French craftsmanship, has developed a strong, rural-themed collection for autumn/winter, unveiled at Paris Haute Couture Week. The collection reflects female strength and beauty, with a gypsy influence ranging from rural fringing to rustic woodland shades of brown. Strong use of embroidery is evident, with graphic capes with tribal fringing alongside more structured, floor-length gowns in deep brown with sharp kimono-style tops against silk or suede fabrics. The dark-toned collection was further enhanced by models wearing oversized aviator style sunglasses, showing the Givenchy woman has moved on from the softer styles we’ve seen before in favour of a stronger, tougher look.
