This year marks a significant anniversary for Christian Dior, who staged his first fashion show in 1947, at 30 avenue Montaigne in Paris. In the 70 years since then, Christian Dior has become a monumental figure in women’s fashion, immortalised by his elegant designs and his skill in enhancing women’s silhouettes. To celebrate the 70th anniversary, Dior has unveiled two limited-edition watches. La Mini D de Dior has been revisited in a new version called La Mini D de Dior Satine Tressée, which is designed to capture the grace and elegance of a simple ribbon. Meanwhile Dior VIII Montaigne has been revisited in a version called Dior VIII Montaigne Tissage Precieux. It has been created in three limited-editions of eight pieces, with each watch reprising one of three Dior signature patterns; caning, herringbone and houndstooth.
Lovers of Dior jewellery will be captivated by the new pieces in the Rose Dior collection. Reworking designs based on Dior’s favourite flower, the rose, there are two new rings and a necklace, Rose Dior Pré Catelan, in rose gold, diamonds and rose quartz. These new items in the Precious Tributes collection are striking mementos of the house’s 70th anniversary. Any one of them would make an exceptional collector’s item and a luxury souvenir from Paris.
