21 November-2 January: Marché de Noël des Abbesses

Located in the Montmartre neighbourhood, the place des Abbesses Christmas market is the perfect introduction to the area’s village-like charm. The traditional market captures the spirit of Christmas, with beautiful stalls offering tasty gourmet products, local gifts and the ideal opportunity to drink mulled wine in a traditional festive setting.

23 November-28 December: Marché de Noël sur le Parvis de la Défense
While it may not be the most charming or chic arrondissement in Paris, the business district of la Défense offers one of the city’s best Christmas markets. Located under the stunning Grande Arche de la Défense monument, the market offers 350 stands and is one of the biggest in Paris. With stalls offering everything from local food produce to crafts and mulled wine, there is sure to be something for everyone.

1-16 December: Marché de Noël alsacien de Paris Gare de l’Est
Are you heading to Paris in the first two weeks of December? Be sure to pay a visit to the famous Alsatian Christmas market, at Paris Gare de l’Est train station, for a chance to pick up some unique French souvenirs and top festive gifts. The market is a particularly good place to find edible souvenirs, with delicious food specialities from Alsace including gingerbread, Christmas biscuits and pâté de foie gras.

15 December-24 December: Marché de Noël de Notre-Dame de Paris
Just a stone᾿s throw from the Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral, this market is one of the most atmospheric in the city. Relatively small, the market offers 50 artisanal stalls showcasing top arts and crafts from around France. Visit for handmade Christmas gifts and traditional festive foods, from pâté de foie gras to chestnuts.

21 December-8 January: Marché de Noël du Mail Branly
Located at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, in the 7th arrondissement, the Marché de Noël du Mail Branly Christmas market is dedicated to selling the best festive goods. Primarily offering top seasonal produce, the market is ideal for sampling the freshest gourmet offerings and visitors can keep warm with a mug of mulled wine or cider. The chic wooden chalets also sell top wooden products and handmade gifts, ideal for last minute stocking fillers or gifts for loved-ones.
