Chanel opens a winter shop in Courchevel

Chanel pops up in the French ski resort of Courchevel with a collection of Chanel-designed cable cars

Marina Nelson ,

Chanel has joined Courchevel for the winter season for the fourth time, with a new pop-up store – and individually designed cable cars.

Prada and Louis Vuitton recently opened in the area, each with their own take on a winter ski-resort store, so Chanel ensured its new vision stands out: to launch the pop-up, the brand decorated a number of cable cars with distinctive Chanel designs and portraits.

The store itself is warm and cosy, to welcome clients who have come off the ski slopes. It is divided into four rooms, colour-coded in different shades from pale oak to bronze and walnut brown.

Each room has a selection of ready-to-wear pieces, while the fourth room also offers a large selection of footwear.

The windows feature key high jewellery pieces, including the Sous le Signe du Lion jewellery and J12 watch collections, offering even more luxury in the French Alps this winter.
