An epic score

Ashlee Beard ,

Fans of Tolkien’s celebrated trilogy can expect a rare treat next April as one of Scandinavia’s foremost symphony orchestras, the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, will perform the soundtrack to Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring to accompany the live projection of director Peter Jackson’s 2001 blockbuster. The 97-piece ensemble will be joined by the Tampere Philharmonic Choir and Pirkanpojat boys’ choir throughout each of the four performances of Howard Shore’s Oscar-winning score. Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring will be performed from Thursday 28 April until Sunday 1 May 2011.
