Souvenir: House of Amber’s Divine earrings

The result of a collaboration with Danish jewellery designer Mai Manniche, these eye-catching earrings from House of Amber feature rare and precious coloured amber

Gemma Latham Gemma Latham,

The result of a collaboration between House of Amber and Danish jewellery designer Mai Manniche, these earrings offer a refreshing alternative to the yellow and orange hues typically associated with amber, featuring a striking mix of rare green and cherry coloured stones. Formed from the resin of trees hardening over millions of year, amber often features inclusions of air bubbles that gives it a cloudy appearance. It can also include insects and plants preserved in the substance, which makes certain pieces extremely valuable.

Transparent amber is also prized for its rarity, making the quality of the amber in this collection notable for its clarity as well as for its colour. Green amber is found in the tropical regions of South America and is typically between three and four million years old. Set into rose gold-plated sterling silver, the warm tones of gold and cherry perfectly complement the spectacular green stones.
