Cyprus, Nicosia Perfect day

Located between the shores of the Mediterranean and Asia, Aphrodite’s Cyprus is where east meets west. It’s hard not to fall for the island of sand, sun and shopping. For more Cypriot culture, peruse Nicosia’s traditional neighbourhoods and admire art before stumbling upon the area’s shoe emporiums

10am
Wander along Stasikratous and indulge in some laid-back luxury shopping; Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana are just a short distance away.

11am
Find the perfect pair of shoes at Giuseppe Zanotti or shoe boutique Kalogirou, both on Mnasiadou street

12pm
Stop at Golden Gallery, on the same street opposite Debenhams, and add to your art collection with a piece by an established Greek painter such as Alekos Fassianos

1pm
Enjoy the freshest seafood lunch at Pyxida fish tavern on Menandrou street; the fish meze is delicious, we heartily recommend it

3pm
Make your way to the traditional Laiki Geitonia neighbourhood.  Without a doubt, it’s the best place in the capital to stock up on souvenirs

5pm
Melt away your worries at the Hamam Omerye spa on Tyllirias square. Treat yourself to the hot stone therapy or an authentic steam bath ritual

7pm
Feast on exquisite meze at Aigaio on Ektoros street, which has been popular among locals for decades. Booking in advance booking is essential as the restaurant gets very busy

9pm
End a perfect day with a fresh kiwi martini and some music made for dancing at Occhio Lounge on Alkeou street
