The best Bahamas beaches
Are you unsure where to find the best beaches during your Bahamas vacation? We’ve found the top seven spots you’ve been looking for
Pelican Point Beach
Located on Great Inagua island, this is a beach where you can snorkel, fly-fish or simply lie back and soak up the sun. The water’s always warm, so what are you waiting for?
One of the most unusual beaches in the world, this spot on the uninhabited island of Big Major Cay is home to a colony of feral swimming pigs. You have to book a special excursion to reach the beach, but we say it’s well worth it for the photos alone.
Treasure Cay is regarded as one of the region’s top spots and, if it’s soft powdery sand and sparkling shores you’re looking for, this beach in North Abaco should be your first destination. Despite its beauty, this beach is seldom crowded so you can enjoy plenty of space.
There are colourful tyres dotted around on this lesser-known beach, so you can create a unique seat before you sit back and soak up the scenery. This area is a real favourite with locals and you can watch huge ships from the shore.
Pink Sand Beach
The pink sand on Harbour Island comes from Foraminifera, microscopic animals with bright red or pink shells. One of the Bahamas’ most famous spots, Pink Sand Beach offers three and a half miles of soft sand, deep blue water and fun for all the family.
This private beach is linked to the Tiamo resort so you have to be a hotel guest to access it, and we say it’s well worth it. Surrounded by palm trees, the beach offers the perfect spot to relax and unwind, as well as butlers to take your drinks order.
Fernandez Bay Village
This exclusive beach, located on Cat Island, is a real hidden gem. Its westward-facing location makes it the ideal spot for watching the sunset – perfect if you’re thinking of proposing.
