Nassau is set to host the 2017 Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup next spring. The Bahamas is famous for its beautiful sandy beaches and picturesque landscapes, and the archipelago is sure to become even more of a talking point once the games open next year. Portugal won the tournament in 2015 on the team’s home turf. Ahead of the opening games in April 2017, international teams will compete in a series of qualifying rounds in destinations around the world, throughout autumn/winter 2016. The official games run from 27 April to 7 May and, this year, Bahamian hopes rest on emulating the Portuguese team’s 2015 home ground success.
