Proving that luxury travel and eco-concerns can coexist harmoniously, Hotel Topazz combines its upscale excesses with an environmentally friendly approach, resulting in one of Europe’s most exciting new boutique hotels. The hotel was constructed using green materials wherever possible, prioritises low-energy usage and ensures it serves locally sourced food in its restaurant.
However, these steps haven’t meant sacrificing style. The hotel’s name, distinctive cylindrical form and large oval windows found throughout are inspired by a silver vase, studded with amber gemstones, by Viennese artist Koloman Moser. An artistic influence appears throughout the hotel’s striking interior, while each of its 32 rooms features custom-made furnishings and light fixtures and is decorated in a palette of earthy, natural tones.
The richly decorated salon serves a delicious organic breakfast and can be used throughout the day as a place to relax with one of owner Martin Lenikus’ own eco-friendly wines. Guests can also venture across the street to the hotel’s sister property, Hotel Lamée, and its restaurant, Bloom. The restaurant offers its own modern interpretation of Austrian delicacies, prepared with organic and seasonal produce.
