Enjoy true Tyrolean hospitality at Jagdhof spa-hotel

Impressive views, unrivalled service and exhilarating activities make this a great year-round destination

Theresa Harold
Theresa Harold,

When guests first arrive at the Jagdhof in Neustift, they are greeted, not only with a glass of champagne, but with a spectacular view of the Austrian Alps as well. Set in the Stubai valley and surrounded by mountain peaks, the hotel boasts extensive facilities including six dining rooms, a renowned wine cellar, interconnected indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, two sun terraces and 5,000 square metres of parkland.

Speaking of woodlands, all of the venison served in the hotel’s restaurant comes from its own forests. In fact, special emphasis is placed on locally sourced produce throughout the restaurant menu, with cereals ground in local mills and dairy products sourced from the nearby Klausnerhof farm.

The Pfurtscheller family, which has owned and managed the hotel for two generations, fosters a community spirit. Since the hotel was built in 1977, it has acquired a prestigious reputation and in 2004, it joined the Relais & Châteaux hotel association, winning numerous awards for its spa and wellness programmes ever since.

Dianas Beautywelt, located on-site, offers guests a range of treatments inspired by Far Eastern and Tyrolean traditions. Be sure to arrive at the spa a few minutes early so the therapist can assess your needs and tailor the experience accordingly. The classic facial massage, which lasts 25 minutes and uses 100% natural skincare products, is a relaxing and restorative treat.

Those more inclined towards the great outdoors will find that the activities on offer vary by the season. Options range from winter sports at the neighbouring Stubai glacier, to paragliding and e-biking in the summer. If there is a particular sport you’d like to try, simply let the concierge know and they will do their utmost to make it happen.

Every morning, a copy of the hotel’s Jagdhofler newspaper awaits guests at the breakfast table. Filled with insightful suggestions for local hikes, souvenirs and the daily weather forecast, it is just one of the many thoughtful touches you’ll discover during your stay.

Located just a short drive from Innsbruck airport (home to one of the most dramatic runways in the world), the Jagdhof provides the perfect base from which to explore this scenic area.
