SS16 trend: black and white

TWIN-SET Simona Barbieri pushes the boundaries of modern elegance with an alternative black and white wardrobe for spring/summer 2016.

Personalised by Simona Barbieri, the collection combines feminine style with masculine touches. Casual pieces have a dash of elegance, regal finesse can be seen in sporty trends. Seemingly worlds apart, these components blend perfectly to achieve a sophisticated look.

The black and white style combines harmoniously with other elements in which refined allure and gipsy spirit coexist, such as in the bi-colour jacquard patterns of trousers and rustling dresses or in see-through tops enriched by contrasting floral embroidery.

Classic black and white is also separated and given full expression individually. Total black is super-seductive in a long lace dress enhanced with fil coupé and made ultra-glamorous with small mirrors applied to georgette. The perfection of total white is seen in fluttering kaftans in embroidered cotton muslin.

Total white is also super-sophisticated when interspersed with colour combinations of neutral tones such as grey with nougat or khaki. This is seen to great effect in bon chic, bon genre jackets, embroidered or 3D-printed down jackets, leather bomber jackets and organza blouses with contrasts of shiny and matt materials that add lightness.
