Selfridges has been named the world’s best department store once again

Selfridges has once again been recognised as the 'best department store in the world'

Norain Ahmed,

London’s famous Selfridges has been named the world’s best department store by the Intercontinental Group of Department Stores. Selfridges was awarded the title for the second time running, beating more than 30 leading stores worldwide including popular names such as Macy’s in the United States and Woolworths in South Africa.

The prestigious store attracts local and international enthusiasts with its impressive range of galleries and events, and managing director Anne Pitcher promises to deliver ‘an extraordinary London experience’ for Selfridges’ customers to maintain its world-beating reputation.

For instance, the renowned Shoe Galleries, covering 35,000 square feet, contain an eclectic selection of shoes from designers such as Burberry and Christian Louboutin, including footwear ranges exclusive to Selfridges. A particular highlight of the London store is its window displays; this season’s, themed around the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, are extremely creative and vibrant.
