Giuseppe Zanotti was born in San Mauro Pascoli, a small village on the Adriatic Riviera. His strong passion for music, fashion and art led him to seek out the world of beauty and accessories in the early 1980s. He came from a village with a tradition of luxury shoe making and he was inspired by footwear, starting his career as a freelance designer for international luxury fashion houses.
His big break came in 1994 when he took over Vicini, a small shoemaking company, and devoted himself to an ambitious project: designing and manufacturing his own shoes. With a small workshop employing just a handful of shoe experts, he embarked on this challenge with passion and dedication. His first collection was launched in New York and his temporary exhibition space was just one room in the Plaza hotel. American customers immediately received his work enthusiastically.
Since then, the most prestigious speciality stores worldwide have been carrying Giuseppe Zanotti Design footwear, and there are now almost 100 flagship stores in the most important fashion capitals of the world. Today, the factory employs more than 650 skilled workers in five production facilities, and manufactures more than 500,000 pairs of luxury women’s shoes a year. These are considered objects of aspiration, beauty and allure.
